Pixelache09 features a series of presentations by artists who explore ecological issues in collaboration with scientists.

Preliminary schedule:

• 12:00-13:00     Ulla Taipale (FI): Capsula / Expedition to the Total Eclipse
• 13:00-14:00     Terike Haapoja (FI): On art, environmental ethics and technology
  
• 14:00-15:00     Anu Osva (FI): Ars Bioarctica / 80+1 Kilpisjärvi Climate Change
• 15:00-16:00     Climate Hack / Pachube / Helsingin Energia: work in progress
• 16:00-17:00     Tapio Mäkelä (FI): Ecolocatedness: Art and Science Practice as Situated Information Design

Each 1 hour timeslot contains approx 30 min presentation followed by a discussion. The discussions are moderated by artist Terike Haapoja (FI) and Pixelache programme director Juha Huuskonen (FI).

After the seminar there is a possibility to visit Helsingin Energia CHP-plant (Combined Heat and Power plant) in Southern Helsinki. This visit is for people who are interested in creating art / design projects based on Helsingin Energia energy consumption data.

2. Access is free to this event, as well as all the other Pixelache09 presentations and seminars. The space is limited so please arrive early. Pixelache09 festival pass holders will have priority access.
