Organic_Urbanic is a short monochrome science fiction video, a
story in picture and sound of an ambient micro cosmos urban-organic tapestry,
based entirely on high angle shots of Tel Aviv. The local and familiar
transgresses into a dense surreal futuristic nightmare. The city is a
canvas map of disruption, cut outs of itself become gravity free. The
streets and cars are muscular veins and blood cells. Amplifying what is
already there. The gentle complex inter-connectivity of the city factors
are amplified through symmetry and dislocation. A mapping out of vast
scapes of urban texture, organic abstractions in dark machine ambiance.
Ran Slavin is working in visual and audio medias as composer, post
production editor, video clip director and live video improvisation. His
narratives evolve and collapse around junctions of moving image, abstractions,
multiple layering of regularly updated source material, digital dislocation,
noise, computer music and cross media interaction * integration.
