Prix Möbius Nordica Experimental 2007

The digital media culture competition Prix Möbius Nordica 2007 will take place at KIASMA Museum of Contemporary Art during the Pixelache festival week. For the first time in 2007, the competition welcomes the Baltic countries Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia to participate and introduces a new prize category for experimental projects: Prix Möbius Nordica Experimental. Prix Möbius Nordica Experimental is dedicated to emerging digital practices, and organized in collaboration with Pixelache. The competition is free of charge for the participants and the audience.

The first Prix Möbius Nordica Experimental is focusing on VJ practices. The call is open for VJs based in the Nordic and Baltic region.

A VJ (Video Jockey) is a performance artist who mixes and manipulates visuals, video and film and in certain cases also uses sound to create audiovisual performances.

VJs are invited to submit a demo reel (5 min) and to provide information about the set up of the performance and the software/hardware systems used. Each work will be evaluated based on the general quality/originality as well as aspects such as: the matching of audio/video and narrative qualities, the inventiveness of the software/ plugin/patch and creative use of original and/or archive footage.
