ABOUT

Introduction to Physical Computing

Physical computing is about interfacing the world with the
computer and the computer with the world. Artists and
designers needs require in general different approaches
for computer interaction then the traditional keyboard and
mouse can offer. Physical computing is a about designing
and building such interfaces which are able transform
physical action into data for further manipulation and
transformation, or are able to physically act on the world.

The workshop will give an introduction into the theory and
praxis of physical computing as well as excursions into art,
design and media theory. We will work with microcontrollers,
sensors, actuators and software to receive, control and
manipulate media.
