Deadline extended to September 22th! The approved works will be announced at 1st of October.
The Alternative Party invites artists to offer their art and workshop suggestions to the arts exhibition at the Alternative Party 2008. The event will take place in the Cable Factory in Helsinki from 24th to 26th of October 2008.

The Alternative Party is a demoparty and a festival of digital culture. It gathers together creative programmers, visualists, musicians, designers, researchers and passionate enthusiasts. The number of visitors this year is estimated to be over 700.

Alternative Party kutsuu taiteilijoita tarjoamaan töitään ja työpajaehdotuksiaan Alternative Party 2008 -tapahtuman taidenäyttelyyn, joka järjestetään Kaapelitehtaalla Helsingissä 24.-26. lokakuuta 2008.

* Call for Proposals *
Pixelache Helsinki is looking for projects and ideas related to following themes:
- Experimental interaction and electronics
- VJ culture and audiovisual performances
- Grassroot organising and networks
- Politics and economics of media / technology
- Media literacy and engaging environmental issues
We are looking for:
- Projects - installations, performances, software, etc
The submitted projects don’t have to be finalized pieces of work, we are also looking for interesting prototypes and concepts.
- Programme concepts
Please send us ideas of programme concepts that you would be willing to initiate / co-organise / curate.

JOIN THE TRIP!
There are at least 2 different groups of people leaving to Tallinn for Plektrum from Helsinki during next week:
* Pixelache crew on Thursday 11.9, departure from Länsisatama at 14.30 with Tallink Silja
* Finnish VJs on Friday 12.9, departure from makasiiniterminaali at 10.30 with Superseacat

Some recommendations on the Plektrum programme for 11.9 and 12.9:
* 11.9: WJ-s ('web jockeys') seminar and performance + discussion panel on "Hidden Spaces"
* 12.9: Vj workshops + Plektrum Club Night at Linnahall with music acts from Estonia, France, Finnish Vjs and many more.

Plektrum Festival
8 - 14 September, Tallinn, Estonia

The 6th edition of Plektrum - the Festival of Visual Sound, will be launched next week. It will feature over 25 international media artists, Vjs, musicians, Dj in addition to the best from Estonia, to build up a truly memorable audiovisual experience. The main theme of this year's edition is "Hidden Spaces".
