Juha Huuskonen is an artist, curator and organiser based in Helsinki, Finland. He has been involved in setting up various collectives, organisations and festivals, including katastro.fi media art collective (1998-), Avanto Festival (2000-2001), Pixelache festival (2002-2011) and Open Knowledge Finland (2012-2013). He lead the development of international Pixelache Network and was involved in establishing Mal au Pixel (Paris / France, 2006), Pixelazo (Medellin / Colombia, 2007) and Afropixel (Dakar / Senegal, 2008), among others. Notable artworks and projects include eko.katastro.fi (1999), The Moment of Long Now (2002), Plan B for Arkadianmäki (2005) and Alternative Design Capital (2012). Juha received the AVEK award in 2009 and katastro.fi the Young Art in Finland award in 1998. Since 2014 he has worked as the director of HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme Programme.
